This weeks meal prep cart was very trying.

My area has been affected by massive snow storms, power outages, and typical Covid delays.

THE SHELVES ARE EMPTY!

It’s becoming very real, and scary to see how empty these stores are becoming.

Tips for empty shelves:
▪️Go into the store with an open mind that you might not get everything on your shopping list.
▪️If able to, plan on going to multiple stores.
▪️Have a back up plan or a back up meal plan ready to go!
▪️If fresh produce is not available, check frozen. You’ll be ok!

Last weeks meal prep was so yummy!

Brussel Sprout salad
-1/4 cup chick peas
-1/4 cup black beans
-1/4 cup sweet corn
- 3.5 oz of chicken thighs
- 2 cups Brussel sprouts
-salt, pepper, garlic powder

Each day I used this base for something different!

Having these jars already prepped allowed me to switch up how I ate it.

Some days I topped it with salsa, and some days I stuffed it in a taco!

Be creative with learning new foods! You are your own teacher.

Practice, fail, and learn!

Yes!!! Moderation!!!

After Bariatric Surgery, especially after year 1, try your hardest to work on adapting better habits like “moderation”.

I know we just came from the holidays and we are all trying to cleanse our bodies. But the sad truth is, you’re still feeding that toxic “weight loss” stereo type.

Don’t work on a diet this year. And definitely do not tell yourself you are going to lose 20-50lbs.

Instead, work on creating habits that will stick.

Start with Picking 1 thing you wish to work on with food.

Like: Reading articles about Macros, Adding new vegetables to your meals, or picking new recipes to try.

Then work on that skill daily.

Once you become consistent with that skill, it no longer feels draining.

It becomes a normal part of your daily routine.

That is how you build a habit.

Do you ever have those shopping carts where you’ve spent soooo much but came home with sooo little?

I feel like this cart accomplishes that 🤣🤣

There have been many times when I go food shopping and I have spent so much more than I normally would and have actually come home with no meals, no plan, and a lot of crap!!!

This cart is full proof of why I always go grocery shopping with a plan.
