The best Tupperware to use for Long Lasting Meal Preps

5 min reading time

The number one question I get from readers, and followers, is how do I keep my meal prep so fresh? The answer is, it’s all in the Tupperware. Your Tupperware is EVERYTHING! If you do not close your lids tight, you have a stinky, nasty taste in your mouth. Am I over exaggerating? Yeah, A little bit. But I am serious. The best way to keep your food fresh is to use the correct Tupperware.

Here are my top 5 picks that I have used in the kitchen, or have experienced from others cooking for me. And yes, they are all glass! Using glass is the best. They recycle better, have beautiful clasping lids, and the best part; you can cook mini personal meals in the oven with them! WIN FOR ME!

1. Elacra Brand

When I say I swear by this brand, I mean I swear by this brand. Every week, at least one of my meals I am making goes into the Elacra Brand. They keep food so fresh, and make re-heating nice and easy. They are GREAT for baking, and stack nicely in your fridge! What is even awesome about this brand is they have so many size options! They are dishwasher safe. Don’t be alarmed when the rubber band seal comes out. Just take a toothpick and shove it back in. I look at it as; it’s getting clean under the surface.

I really like the 28 oz size. It is perfect for salads, wraps, rice bowls, and dinner meats. They are not too big so they can fit into your lunchbox, and they fit nicely into any sized microwave!

I also love the 4 oz baby food size, because this helps me control portion sizes for homemade applesauce, cold cuts, cheese, almonds, granola, or toppings for a salad!

2. Mason Jars

Yes. Yes, to all Mason Jars! These are perfecto for anything and everything! You can store upside down salads, overnight oats, pasta, yogurt and granola, or anything else you can think of! There is no plastic involved in these, and cleaning is awesome! Please make sure you remove all metal from the top before Microwaving! We do NOT need explosions! lol!!! Mason Jars come in many different sizes. To be honest, I really like having a variety of sizes! And if you are into canning, these are perfect for you!

3. Rubbermaid Brilliance Glass

I know!!! Can you believe Rubbermaid has glass?!?! These are awesome! They have that seal protection leak proof lids, and keep your food super fresh! These do tend to run a little more expensive than most, but they are worth it! They are BPA free too!

4. Glass Tupperware with Sections!

I do not have a specific brand for a glass sectioned Tupperware, but I can absolutely tell you that these are awesome! I have used these for my own protein boxes, dinners with sides, salads with toppings, and more! If you are looking to save room in your lunch box, this is for you! Since I typically find 1 or 2 (different brands) at TJ Maxx or Marshalls, here are my brand selections for this style! Whats Awesome is you can still bake with these in the oven!

5. Pyrex

Ok Listen, Yes, I use Pyrex, but you really need to know how to clean these. Unfortunately, Pyrex is not high on my rating scale. However, this is the primary Tupperware I use. So why is it on my top list? Well, you can still bake with them, order many different sizes, and they are glass. So wheres the issue? Well I’m glad you asked. My issue is with the lids. After a while of use and abuse with the dishwasher, the lids begin to crack and split. This allows air to enter into your food making the taste become weakened and smelly. However, if you promise not to put the lids in the dishwasher, I do recommend these. They are great, easy, and awesome for all types of meals for foods. You can bake personal dinners in these, or just use them for storage. Pyrex is the top leading brand for Tupperwear, but I really wanted you all to know the longterm truth about their lids! Treat them like babies, and they will last for a while!

No to Plastics

Here’s why I say stay away from Plastic.

  1. You do not get your moneys worth.
  2. They crack and break quicker.
  3. You will end up replacing more, than actually owning more.
  4. They are not ECO friendly.
  5. They are dishwasher safe, but end up bending or melting in the dishwasher.
  6. They leave a nasty smell behind.

Hope you all enjoyed my top favorites!!! Don’t forget the biggest piece to losing weight is by drinking water!!! Here is a 10% off code for a 73 oz water bottle! I use this water bottle and love it!
